How we care for your pet

Emergency Care

Life-Threatening Situations

Life-threatening moments — trauma, trouble breathing, or a suspected poisoning. When every second counts, our team is ready.

Urgent Care

Same-Day, Non-Life-Threatening

For the limps, the upset stomachs, the swallowed somethings, and the worries that can't wait for a regular appointment. We're ready to help with our top-of-the-line digital x-ray and oxygen chamber for those really scary moments. For pets who swallow something they shouldn't have, our endoscopy unit lets us retrieve it without surgery in many cases.

Wellness & Preventive Care

Routine & Preventive Care

Exams, vaccines, and the regular checkups that catch problems early and keep them small.

“Your place is right beside your pet.”
The CCVC difference
You don't have to wait on the sidelines.

As a community-rooted veterinary hospital in Calabasas, we built this place with deep care, skill, and love — keeping families side by side as much as we safely can, whether for routine visits or urgent moments. Pets feel calmer and safer with their person close, and you get to watch what's happening, ask questions, and understand the plan every step of the way.

And because everyday wellness and urgent care live under one roof here, the team you trust in a stressful moment is the same team you come back to for the ordinary things. The annual checkup, the vaccines, the "should I be worried about this?" question you wish you could ask someone. One familiar place for your pet's whole life, not just the emergencies.

Stay together through care
Routine + urgent, one team
Independently owned

A local hospital, rooted in this community.

Calabasas is the kind of place where people still know their neighbors, and its pets deserve a vet that works the same way. We're a community-rooted animal hospital, not a corporate chain, run by people who live nearby and want this to be a place families actually like coming to.

Our hope is simple. A year from now, we want to be a fixture of the neighborhood, the kind of place you stop in to say hi after a hike or on your way past for a coffee, whether or not your pet has an appointment.

You'll notice roots show up a lot around here, in the huge oak tree in our logo, and in how we talk about this place. That's on purpose. It means we're not a clinic that changes hands every few years. We live here, we're building this to last, and we plan to be here through every season.

Care for dogs and cats, from routine to urgent.

Dental Care

Cleanings, extractions, and catching the disease before it starts to hurt.

Surgery

From spays and neuters to orthopedic and soft-tissue procedures, with close monitoring and recovery on your pet's timeline, not the clinic's.

Diagnostics, Ultrasound & Lab

In-house testing and imaging to get you answers faster, when time matters.

What to Expect at Your Visit

You'll feel the difference from the moment your pet walks through the door.

You're seen quickly.

Within a few minutes of arriving, a Care Coordinator greets you, then a nurse or assistant checks your pet's vitals, with the doctor close behind. If something needs urgent attention, we bring you back right away.

You hear the plan
before we act.

You'll know what we're seeing, what your options are, and what we'd recommend, in plain language, before anything happens.

You know the cost up front.

We walk you through what care will cost before we do it, so there are no surprises when it's time to pay, and you can make the call that's right for your pet and your family.

Questions, answered

The things people ask us most.

Yes, for mostly everything! We keep families together through exams and urgent visits, because pets are calmer when their person is close and you deserve to see the care your pet is getting. In some situations, like certain procedures or imaging, we may need a little room to keep everyone safe, and we'll always tell you why.

Calabasas Community Veterinary Care cares for dogs and cats from nose to tail. That includes wellness exams and vaccines, dental care, surgery, diagnostics and lab work, and urgent care for the days that don't go as planned.

Regular, or general, care is the everyday stuff you plan for: annual checkups, vaccines, dental cleanings, and managing ongoing conditions. Urgent care is for the things that pop up out of nowhere and can't wait days for an appointment, like a sudden limp, an upset stomach, or a cut that needs looking at today. Here, you get both under one roof, from a team that already knows your pet.

Yes. We're open for regular daytime care, plus extended urgent care hours until midnight, well beyond a typical 9-to-5. And even after the doors close for the night, there's always a doctor and nurse or assistant on site watching over any hospitalized patients.

When a hospital is independently owned, the people caring for your pet answer to your community, not to a corporate chain hundreds of miles away. That means decisions about your pet's care stay between you and your vet, you see familiar faces instead of rotating staff, and the focus stays on doing right by the animals and their people.

Cost depends on what your pet needs, and we'll always walk you through it before we do anything, so there are no surprises at checkout. We'll help you understand your options and find a plan that works for your family.

Urgent care is for problems that can't wait for a regular appointment but aren't life-threatening, things like vomiting, diarrhea, limping, ear infections, minor wounds, or eating something they shouldn't have. A true emergency, like trouble breathing, a serious injury, collapse, or suspected poisoning, needs a 24-hour emergency hospital with critical-care equipment. If you're not sure which one you're facing, reach out and we'll help you figure out the safest next step.

Yes. We're welcoming new dog and cat patients across Calabasas and the surrounding communities.
